For more than 45 years, Pine Ridge Vineyards has been crafting acclaimed wines in the heart of the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, just off the region’s renowned Silverado Trail.
Our Traveler’s Series goes beyond the trail and marries our decades-long experience producing authentic Cabernet Sauvignon with our intimate knowledge of the variety’s diverse terroir, putting us in a position to explore a new expression that honors our winemaking legacy. Our Traveler’s Series is our most readily accessible Cabernet Sauvignon, with layers of juicy fruit and a soft texture, crafted in a classic Pine Ridge style.
This Cabernet Sauvignon opens with expressive aromas of red raspberry and cherry candy, followed by layers of mocha, cocoa powder, and oaky sweetness. The palate is juicy upfront, with a slightly gritty texture and building, firm tannins that create a classic “alligator mouth” grip. Bold yet balanced, the wine shows both immediate fruit appeal and the structure to age gracefully over the next 5–10 years.

Vintage Notes
The 2023 growing season began with heavy winter rain, replenishing our reservoirs and lakes. Bud break was delayed due to a cooler than usual season, typically occurring once every 10 to 15 years. Despite this, we enjoyed a lengthy season with yields from average to 10% above average. With no disease pressure, increased soil water, and extended hang time, 2023 is destined to be legendary. Our vines thrived with healthy canopies, and the grapes ripened slowly, ensuring this “once-in-a-decade” vintage provided fruit that could perform at the apex of quality. Fruit was night harvested between September 20th and October 31st.
Winemaker’s Notes
Sourcing the grapes for this blend brought me over to each side of the Napa Valley picking grapes in Solano and Contra Costa Counties. The Solano growing area that has been under the radar for a long time and now is being discovered for it assets of weather and soil that are similar to that of Napa Valley. The Cabernet Sauvignon from the Servin Vineyard is the foundation of the Travelers wine. The Petit Sirah, Zinfandel and Merlot are layered on top to give the wine its round fruity softness, which makes it ready to drink at release. The grapes were handpicked at night between September 20 and October 31. The grapes were cold soaked for 4 days prior to the start of fermentation. The fermentation was designed to extract the most from the grapes to get the deep red color and firm tannin structure. The wine was aged in French and American oak.
