Mushroom Flat Bread

A sliced rectangular pizza with cheese, mushrooms, and basil on parchment paper sits on a tiled surface next to a bottle of Black Diamond wine, two filled wine glasses, and a plate with cheese, garlic, and herbs.

Mushroom Flat Bread

This easy recipe combines savory sautéed mushrooms, melty mozzarella, spinach, and herbs on a crispy flatbread—perfect for a quick, flavorful dinner or appetizer in under 40 minutes.
Yield: 4 Servings | Prep: 40 minutes | Total Time: 60 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1 prepared pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 2-3 sprigs thyme
  • 1 small bunch basil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper, freshly cracked
Preparation
  1. Heat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Roll out prepared pizza dough on a parchment lined baking sheet and brush with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Bake for 6-7 minutes, until golden.
  2. Add butter into a pan over medium-low heat and melt. Add onions, consistently stirring, until the onions begin to brown and caramelize, about 10-15 minutes. Add mushrooms and continue cooking for 5-7 minutes. Stir in garlic and remove from heat.
  3. Evenly spread the onions and mushrooms on the baked dough. Top with spinach, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden.
  4. Garnish with fresh basil, fresh thyme, and black pepper. Slice and serve.
