Principles of Wine and Food Pairing

Join Assistant Winemaker Mike Conversano and Winery Chef Susan Lassalette as they guide you through a virtual tasting and discuss the basics of matching wine and food. Mike and Susan have a natural synergy for pairing wine and food.

Susan creates the menus for our wine and food pairing experiences, winery events, and private lunches and dinners. She has an extensive background in the restaurant industry, having worked at Coyote Café in Santa Fe and Square One in San Francisco.

Mike also has a background in restaurants. As a chef curious about winemaking, he took a harvest position in Napa Valley and decided he liked making wine more than cooking.

We will taste the Chenin Blanc + Viognier, Merlot, and Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. Chef Susan has prepared recipes for each of these wines, if you would like to plan in advance! Visit the recipe section of our website for details.
