1978

  • Pine Ridge Vineyards is founded in the Stags Leap District by Gary and Nancy Andrus with 50 acres of vineyards
  • Tom Cottrell was the first winemaker for Pine Ridge Vineyards. Wines were made at Dick Shown & Son in Rutherford for the first couple of vintages
  • First vintage of Rutherford Pine Ridge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is released
  • Wine Country artist Sebastian Titus designs first label for Pine Ridge Vineyards

1979

  • First vintage of Stags Leap District Chardonnay is released
  • First phase of construction on new winery begins

1980

  • First vintage of Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon is released
  • 1981 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon

1983

  • Stacy Clark becomes winemaker from 1983-2008

1984

  • McKinnon Vineyard (8 acres) in Carneros is purchased

1985

  • Locked Horns Vineyard (6.5 acres) in Stags Leap District is purchased

1986

  • Dos Olivos Vineyard (28 acres) in Oakville is purchased

1987

  • Construction begins on winery caves

1991

  • Leucadia National Corporation, led by Ian Cumming and Joe Steinberg, takes partial ownership position at Pine Ridge Vineyards

1993

  • Olive Pond Vineyard (5 acres) in Carneros is purchased
  • Circle Hill Vineyard (13 acres) in Stags Leap District is purchased

1994

  • Rutherford Ridge Vineyard (57 acres) in Rutherford is purchased

1995

  • Collines Vineyard (47 acres) in Carneros is purchased
  • Cornerstone Vineyard (8 acres) in Stags Leap District is purchased
  • Pine Ridge Vineyards Chenin Blanc + Viognier first release
  • Pine Ridge launches unique white blend of Chenin Blanc + Viognier packaged in hock bottle

2000

  • Chihuly glass art purchased and installed in the winery caves

2002

  • Leucadia completes 100 percent buyout of Pine Ridge Vineyards
  • Alta Vineyard (20 acres) in Howell Mountain is purchased
  • Final phase of winery caves is completed
  • 1999 Pine Ridge Vineyards Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon ranks #4 in Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines
  • 2000 Pine Ridge Vineyards Dijon Clones Chardonnay ranks #46 in Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines

2003

  • Gustavo Aviña joins Pine Ridge Vineyards as vineyard manager
  • First vintage of FORTIS is produced by Pine Ridge Vineyards

2006

  • First vintage of Pine Ridge Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is released

2007

  • Leucadia subsidiary, Crimson Wine Group is named and formed

2009

  • Michael J Beaulac joins Pine Ridge Vineyards as winemaker

2013

  • Crimson Wine Group is spun-off from Leucadia as a separate company and founders Ian Cumming and Joe Steinberg remain as leading shareholders and Board Directors

2018

  • Pine Ridge Vineyards celebrates it’s 40th Anniversary
