The Oakville appellation spans the Napa Valley from the Vaca Mountains in the east to the Mayacamas in the west. Its gravel adn clay soils, as those found on our 25-acre estate vineyard, yield Cabernet Sauvignon wines of exceptional balance and structure.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
A luminous bouquet of sweet black cherry, blueberry and raspberry fruit, shrouded with tones of briar, sweet cloves and baking spice emanates from the glass in this dark garnet wine. Mirroring the nose, the full, resplendent palate floods with juicy blackberry, supple black raspberry and Bing cherry fruit, followed by touches of red licorice, brown butter and toasted vanilla. Firm, chewy tannins provide balance and a robust structure that last throughout the graceful, lingering finish.
Vineyard Notes
The fruit for this wine is grown at our Dos Olivos Vineyard in the Oakville AVA. The well-drained soil and moderate temperature of this valley floor vineyard in conjunction with our attentive farming practices create ideal conditions for the production of deeply fruited and well-extracted Cabernet Sauvignons.
Production Notes
2013 was an ideal seaon in Napa Valley, with dry conditions and a long, sunny summer, allowing even ripening and yielding exquisite, balanced fruit. The fruit for this wine was harvested at an optimal level of ripeness in early October. The berries were hand-harvested at night, carefully sorted and destemmed to tank, where fermentation took place. Then, the wine was racked to 60% new French oak barrels, where it was aged for 18 months prior to bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
This robust yet balanced Cabernet would prove a delicious pairing for braised meat, such as Moroccan lamb shanks with pomegranate, mint and French lentils. For a delightful cheese course, try this wine with Nicasio Square, a semi-soft cow’s milk cheese from California.
